“Það kann ek þriðja:
ef mér verðr þörf mikil

eggjar ek deyfi
minna andskota,
bíta-t þeim vápn né velir.”
I know that a third:
if I have great need
of a fetter against my adversaries,
the edges I dull
of my opponents’ [weapons],
neither their weapons nor clubs will bite.
